Professional Fiduciary Fee Schedule

Our fees reflect the care and responsibility required to thoughtfully serve each client and their unique circumstances. Athena Private Client Group provides personalized fiduciary services with a focus on trust, discretion, and preserving what matters most to the individuals and families we represent.

Professional Services

Our hourly rates apply to the following engagements:

• Conservatorships and guardianships*
• Serving as agent under a power of attorney
• Serving as healthcare agent or agent under an advance healthcare directive
• Extraordinary services
• Certain trust administrations, depending on the nature of the engagement

*Compensation in conservatorship and guardianship matters is reviewed and approved by the court.

Trustee Services

Additional professional fiduciary fees may be charged at hourly rates ranging from $250 to $400 per hour for unusual or extraordinary services, including but not limited to complex tax issues, complex real property sales, and litigation.

Probate Administration Fees

Fees payable to the Professional Fiduciary as the Personal Representative for customary services are authorized under Probate Code §10800 and, pursuant to Probate Code §10800 are computed on a fee base comprised of gross assets, plus receipts and gains, less losses, as follows:

In addition to statutory fees, pursuant to Probate Code §10801, extraordinary fees can be requested for services such as, but not limited to, tax issues, real property sales and litigation. Though fees for extraordinary services are subject to court approval, extraordinary services are charged at the following hourly rates:

The value of the estate is based on the appraised value of property in the inventory, plus any gains and receipts, less losses, without regard to encumbrances or other obligations against the property.

Where needed, we may also engage tax counsel, accountants, or other tax professionals to assist with filings or related matters, with those fees paid from the estate.

Special Needs Trust Administration

Special Needs Trust administration requires thoughtful oversight to preserve public benefits while enhancing the beneficiary’s quality of life. Athena Private Client Group provides individualized support, including trust administration, coordination with family members and professionals, oversight of beneficiary needs, bill payment, asset management, and long-term planning.

Complex Special Needs Trusts or high-touch beneficiary circumstances may exceed standard trustee fees.

Additional & Extraordinary Services

Extraordinary services may include matters requiring additional time, complexity, or specialized oversight, including litigation support, complex family matters, tax coordination, significant asset transitions, or other circumstances outside ordinary administration.

Real Estate Services

Real estate services may include oversight and coordination related to preparing, maintaining, transitioning, or selling real property held within a trust or estate.

Billing Practices

Time is billed in one-tenth hour increments. Out of pocket costs are billed separately.

Athena Private Client Group employs administrative and accounting staff to assist the fiduciaries. Appropriate tasks are delegated to staff and supervised by a licensed fiduciary, resulting in a cost savings to the client's estate.

At times we may engage outside professionals, including a CPA, financial advisor, or outside counsel, to advise the fiduciaries. We make every effort to limit these costs, though there may be circumstances where a specialist is required to properly administer the trust or estate.
